Well we saw Pikachu gets a synchro move so either him or Raichu are getting a synchro evolution. It's probably Raichu though.

I'd still rather like to see Raichu get a mega desu. Its design already builds enough off of Pikachu that taking it a bit further would be 100% dank

I just hope he loses the brown and his brown fur turns black. I just don't like Raichi's burnt orange color. Yellow is so much better.

It'd be an interesting mechanic for any stage-1 to have a mega evolution. It could give players a reason to not evolve.

Let's say Mega Squirtle had slightly better base stats than Mega Blastoise. Not evolving it could give you a certain edge during key moments but you'd have to take the lower stats when Squirtle isn't Mega.

The same could go for Pikachu.
