>>27275614So, by definition, all of first generation's Pokemon were good, therefore anything that doesn't hold an equal level of quality is bad? I disagree so very, very much.
Each generation has had its share of good and bad designs, and each generation has had an irredeemably bad design - Gen 1 had Muk (literally "it just gets bigger"), Gen 2 had Delibird (fucking Santa, seriously?), Gen 3 had Luvdisc or possibly Huntail (Luvdisc is an abortion and Huntail is garish), Gen 4 had Lickylicky (it's got a fucking bib), Gen 5 had le ice cream meme and possibly Basculin (who actually remembers this one), Gen 6 had Aromatisse (it's a puffball and a tart somehow mixed into one), and Gen 7 looks to have Bruxish, the most garishly pink fish to swim the oceans. Each gen had good designs, too, though there's more than one of them for each so I won't go through and list them.
Pokemon isn't running out of ideas, and there's enough concepts in the world that they likely never will. Have we seen a Pokemon based off of a selkie, or a computer peripherals, or a dryad? Have we seen urban coyote Pokemon, or hermit crabs using trash, or Quetzalcoatl? No? Then Game Freak isn't even close to "running out of ideas." Go home, and take your shitty memes with you.
