Platinum improved a lot of things upon DP, and HGSS were fairly decent remakes. But Gen 5 will always top them.

Sorry but Platinum shits on HGSS. They were decent games but copy pasted frontier wasnt exciting and the level curve is ridiculous, lots of empty places without trainers also dont do the games any favours. Worst safari zone to date.

Pokeathlon was the only new addition that was ok

Ill always defend Gen4. Maybe its because my mom got me and my sister a DS and a copy of Pearl and Diamond for us after she got on her feet after the divorce form our father. Maybe I just have nothing but good memories of the games but Ill defend it no matter what. I dont think anyone can understand why I have a connection to gen 4. And for HGSS, my mom made ME spend MY money on it when I was like 10. I used the money my dad gave me to buy these. So I guess I like Gen 4 because one represents my mom (Pearl and Diamond), and one my dad (HGSS). It also shows how my dad was always working and had to give me money to buy me stuff while my mom tried her best to be a parent. I love them both and I will love Gen 4 for ever.

It had a great 3rd game, E4, champion and music. But the game was fucking terrible.

As much as I love HGSS it cannot save Gen 4 from the absolute travesty of Diamond and Pearl. Platinum is better but still sucks.

Yes hello I have a complaint, Typhlosion's moveset in HGSS

Mine is at level fifty and it knows swift/flamethrower/hidden power and ghost claw because Typhlosion is a special attacker and almost every good move it can learn is physical

Not much better than being 12 when D/P came out. I'm 20, too. It's looked down upon, but I loved seeing Dialga merchandise, I finally bought the game and watched nervously to see if my religious mother was still as against it as she had been in the past. Luckily she didn't stop me, and I never stopped after that.
