>>27296570There was no postgame, which is why breeding was necessary padding. While I love that I will no longer have to soft reset for legendaries anymore, I am really saddened that pokemon no longer have 'genes'. Hyper Training really feels like it defeats the purpose of IVs, the whole "every pokemon is different" thing thats existed since gen one is kind of gone now, since one can easily make their pokemon exactly like every other one, since IVs are now part of the training process instead of the initial breeding process.
I would have MUCH preferred if something like Hyper Training existed, but was part of the breeding process, like if you could expose your eggs to various things that would guarantee IV's of parents be passed down or improve your odds at getting a 31 randomly generated or some combination of those, and have all non-breedables be hexaperfect from the start.
IV's have basically change from a pokemon's genes to just another stat to train, and now it feels kind of silly having EVs and IVs be separate when they are the same thing now.
Battling is all but removed anyway now, Masuda basically confirmed that we will never see a facility like the Battle Frontier again. Sun and Moon will very likely have a re-skinned battle tower / maison, probably that artificial island, and give no good incentives or motivation to complete it like the frontier pass in emerald.
