I wish people who made these kinds of threads would read the suspect threads on Smogon.
It forced too many coin flips, it is essentially two Pokémon at once, and it prevented too many Pokémon from being viable.
There's soft checks, like Bisharp, Mandibuzz, anything that learns STAB EQ, and I guess Mega Sableye. Problem is no one wants to be FORCED to run those Pokémon and even if you do run them they're not guaranteed ways to beat it.
But the last point I made is the most important one. The Lati twins were in danger of dropping to UU because of that thing. Obviously they'd be banned to BL in a heartbeat but it goes to show how centralizing it was. The meta is much healthier without it than with it.
