Anyone with a brain would understand that Game Freak/Nintendo didn't have the same technology back in 1996 than the one they had in 2010.
Not everyone had the chance to be part of the fandom since its conception, so you shouldn't have this elitist "if you weren't here first you know nothing!" mentality. So what if someone wasn't there to witness an event 10 years ago? It's not like you remember it in full detail, anyways.
