the sun isn't made of fire so what's so bad about it being weak to fire. I would say it's bad if a duck was weak to water because ducks live in water. But in the case of the sun legendary there's no parallel association to make. It's not associated with fire.

You're right the sun actually is made of ice (at -10000 deg F) and solgeo is steel type and steel is SE against ice so it just shows that soelgeo is the sun master

Types represent more than just their literal name. Grass refers to plant forms in general, not just the stuff in your lawn. Flying has meant both stuff that flies as well as the wind. Now, of all of the known Pokemon types, which one is going to best represent heat? It's gonna be fucking Fire.

I understand that. I have no problem with gamefreak using a broader meaning. btw in an e3 interview they said that sun and moon were a reference to life and no life because alola is teeming with life. so the sun didn't represent fire to them it represented life while the moon represented no life.

It doesn't? Groudon is a Ground type and calls the sun fine. The mega just amplificates it and it's body becomes filled with MAGMA, not sun.

Not to mention that even if Solgaleo was the Sun Pokemon, making it weak to Water would be fucking retarded.
