Why the fuck isnt the pokedex useful in identifying types? I dont know 90% of the fucking new pokemon types and have no interest reading 721 different entries just to know each and every shitmon.

Good, though it'd be nice if they showed WHY it was effective, so you could actually learn and memorize the typings, rather than just rely on looking out for the effective message.

At this stage in Pokemon's life, and with DS having a secondary screen, I don't see why it's not possible to pull up the pokedex to get info on the pokemon you're against. It'd be great to just get simple info such as type and expected moveset for the level range. Not even asking to be told what is effective, but a means to avoid pulling up an external pokedex to assess what's going on.

I have a friend who is super deep into that shit. I gave him Y as a present a few weeks back.

Fucker couldn't figure out:
>how to catch pokemon
>how to use the PC
>how to find the bycicle
>how to moveset
>How to use items
His starter still has tackle at level thirtysomething and his team is literally the two starters and a forfrou (How he managed to get that forfrou without knowing how to catch pokemon is a mystery).

I've been teaching him how to do shit, but if he's any representation of the average SMT fan... Yeah, I would get off that high horse if I were you.
