It's pretty clear the dex is going to be set up like Kalos's pokedex, with a large variety in available Pokemon split up into seperate dexes. Whether that means there will be a small or large amount of new Pokemon is not something that can be guessed based on information we have

Probably. Gamefreak realized after 5th gen that the huge number of Pokemon has gotten out of hand. Every new game, instead of working with 200-300 Pokemon they are now soon going to be working with 800+. Retards and casuals lose interest when they can't keep up with all the Pokemon anymore.

We will probably see something like 50 new mons + 10-ish new megas.

There's already been almost 50 new Pokemon revealed if you count evolutions of currently revealed mons. I hope they add a shit ton of new ones. I like discovering new bros.

Hopefully fucking not. The atrocious selection of Pokemon in BW absolutely killed the game for me. Even if X/Y has a little bit too much genwun pandering I still appreciated having a variety of of new and old to choose from.

The horse is a very well done design, it combines the horse species' anatomy with (what seems to me like) dreadlocks reminiscent of natives and mud calves, and it isn't overdesigned.

The bear is... not good. Its not bad, but its certainly the worser of the designs so far. Again though, its your opinion if they're good or not, but the designs are executed alright up to now for most pokemon.

They're all fine. So far every single pokemon revealed has been good and I've liked it, even the fish, the bear, and the dragon. They all have very neat designs that just appeal to me. I understand why people don't like it so I won't force it down anybody else's throat, but it just irks me a bit whenever people compare the designs like this. The pokemon you mentioned have very different ultimate designs, one is meant to be overly cute to bring across the creepy undertones it carries more effectively, the other is meant to represent something more direct, a simple chinese-y dragon with a neat story to it. Dislike what you want, but maybe compare things like goodra and drampa, which had closer design goals.

TL;DR: fuck you for comparing those two.

The only thing we know for sure is that the pokedex is going to be very big overall.
Probably the biggest regional dex so far.
That's based on interviews where Ohmori says Alola is 'teeming with life'.
And it's also confirmed that you encounter Ledyba on the very first route.

I have a few favorites, so it's hard to pick just one.
Rowlet looks good, especially if the Chinese leaks are real.
Salandit, Wimpod, Grubbin, Bewear, Rockruff, and Bruxish all look pretty good.
