My favorite animal-based digi is Gabumon
Flying: Biyomon and Phoenixmon has long been a favorite of mine, but Hawkmon/Valkyrimon is fine, too.
Plant and Insect-based: Floramon-Ceresmon/Medium. Yes, a new one. Surprised?
Water-based: Betamon-MetalSeadramon. Again.
Holy: Hackmon-Jesmon
Machine: Hagurumon-HiAndromon. Though I have also long been partial to anything you can dream up that leads to Machinedramon. (I've mapped it many ways)
Evil/Demon/Dark: Ummm...geez...Commandramon-Darkdramon
A lot of these are still dragons? I was at a loss.
