Fire Emblem IS a good "Baby's first SRPG", because it is pretty simple with no extra fiddly bits to get caught up on, but otherwise the gameplay is far to easy, next to no tactics are actually necessary except "put the big guy in front", and the "permenant death" is a meme and nothing more. . I wouldn't say it's the worst, there's probably something obscure that is shittier, but it is definitely the worst big-name one.
I will say this. It is the best game out there is you want to roleplay as a Nazi scientist out to breed the greatest super-soldier using "science" that would make Metal Gear Solid call bullshit.
