It's overexposed, It's way uglier than the other rodent pokemon, it's gimmick is that it is an electric pokemon that can't even produce electricity (It stores static on it's cheeks), It's overexposed, it has introduced shit tier anime canon into the games (like pokemon cries being their name), it's overexposed, it's a living reminder of the series' stagnation and generally hampers progress by making the design team try to recapture the pikachu design instead of focusing on proper new designs. No other pokemon's design elements repeat as often as pikachu's, or hell, no other pokemon has as many variants as pikachu.
In short, pikachu is a very bad thing that damages pokemon by simply existing. It's nice that it can generally be ignored, but that won't make it okay for it to exist the way it does, damaging designes left and right.
