>>27379065>until something does it's solely a home console because that's the logical conclusionExcept is not. I agree that rumors need to be taken with a grain of salt, but thinking that Nintendo is going to sprout out an ARM-amputeé-PC-that-connects-to-your-tv is pure madness. Nobody is going to buy that, because the main audience for PS4 and XB1 are casual dudebros and they're never going to buy a Nintendo console even if it's twice as powerful than a PS4 and costs 99$.
Leaving euroshill aside, there are some conclusion we can draw from logic and common sense, by looking and what Nintendo has done in the last 10 years (of course they can always surprise us, this is speculation).
>3DS managed to sell an acceptable 60 million units>Wii U lags at 13>Wii U has almost no third party games>3DS has lots of third party games, and for many companies (Konami, Level 5), is their main dev machine>Nintendo has merged the handheld and hardware division>Nintendo has expressed the desire of bringing all their IPs together. Said this, it wouldn't be farfetched to imagine that NX is an handheld that lets you also play on tv. It's a simple concept, it's an evolution of the Wii U, is right up Nintendo alleys, it takes them out of the spec races, it gives them an unique niche, it brings all their IPs in one place. It's pretty much the best idea for Nintendo. Now about detachable controller, NVIDIA processors and whatnot, that is less believable and we won't know until september, but based on what Nintendo has said and done about their business, it's far more possible that NX is in fact and handheld than a home console. Home consoles are dead anyway, the last one was the Wii U, PS4 and XB1 are just botched PCs.
