Why are Lance, Steven and Iris considered type specialists when their teams are only 1/2 their chosen type? Why isn't Alder considered a bug specialist?

Lance, Steven, and Iris all make big deals out of the types they prefer even if their Pokemon aren't all that type.

Alder just chills. That's why he's the best.

The characters tell us they're type specialists but GF gives them mixed type teams because they think that's harder to beat. I'm particularly upset about Steven's team; he should definitely have Excadrill to got with his usual 3 Steel types but GF only did this in PWT

Alder should be a Bug-type expert but GF never acknowledged that he had 3 in BW and then gave him a completely different team in BW2 to avoid him being associated with Bug types
