Design wise nothing but the fact that it's a manlet, which isn't something inherently bad but nidoking gives the impression of being huge so it's a bit dissapointing when you realize he's short as fuck.

You would mostly compensate that power loss with the stat gain from going Mega.
Give it a +30 to Speed, and +70 to SpA (or Atk, if GF decides to give it more moves).
You gain the strategic ability to trap non-levitating pokemons, and also re-gain the secondary effects of moves.
