>>27387606>This is a meme and it needs to stop. This is not a traditional pokemon game, its a spinoff like it or not. The current system works fine for a phone gameNo, it isn't. Look, I'm not saying it has to be a 1:1 imitation of the main video games; I'd definitely like that, but the TCG uses different mechanics and it works okay. But it DOES need to be a game that lives halfway between chess and rock-paper-scissors, because that's the core of how Pokemon works.
This "just slaptap over and over and whoever has higher CP wins, don't worry we'll totally auto-select your team hurr durr" shit is just god-awful. Fuck me even Ash Ketchum spent more time thinking about what mon to send out than the average Go player, and he's demonstrably retarded.
I don't care what they do with it, but it needs to be SOMETHING that rewards selecting the right mon for the right challenge. That's the core Pokemon gameplay mechanic in literally EVERY Pokemon game that exists (except arguably Snap and Pokken, I guess).
Capture/level mechanics too; look, I don't mind the ball-flicking thing, but "catch 100 pidgeys to evolve one to a pidgeot!" is nothing more than a lazy, transparent skinner box designed to sell Pokeballs to players for real world money without actually engaging them.
This shit wouldn't even be hard to implement, all the data is laid out in spreadsheets at GF, all the mechanics are tuned and playtested and balanced by the main games. It's a simple matter of copy-paste; I get that there's an amount of implementation overhead there but it's not like it's a massive undertaking to get this shit implemented.
