Honestly, the entire fucking launch has been a complete clusterfuck. Between the server issues, glitches, lack of content, broken features, and no Go Plus, it's pretty hard to see how they could've bungled it worse.

Another theory is that when you catch whatever Pokemon and tap on it, it'll do Ditto's cry instead of whatever Pokemon it looks like.

However, I'm sure the real sign is when you catch a Pidgey and some shit and suddenly you get that "new Pokemon" screen and it turns out to be Ditto as it gets registered into your Pokedex.

Tbh I dont really see anyone in my neighborhood playing it anymore. I've actually slowed down myself after hitting 100 + in the Dex, getting my bro Charizard was one of my main goals as8de from rebuilding my Gen 1 Team but after the hassle it took just to get ONE of these fucks it just saddens me that after a week he and the rest of my mons will be outdated.

Add to the fact that going for Gym Leader isnt even worth it and its really no more point to me playing for now.

Its just a really shitty way to raise pokemon.

Also, it isn't rare or anything, but for some reason every single night there's a single koffing that appears on my radar while i'm sitting at home. It's always the closest thing to me and i can't ever find it, but i know it's not like it's the same one or anything since they despawn after a while.

I caught a snorlax early in my Run with PERFECT MOVES but as it stands I have never seen another. Its sitting at fucking 350 CP and it will stay there because even if I do manage to find another it'll probably be stonger than my lax with shit moves.

That seaking is 500 only because it's evolved....a lvl 20 would have seen a seaking between 850-1050

You'll see stronger stuff as you level, I'm lvl 22 and starting to see basics with 400-600 cp, some of the stuff that only evolves once with 700cp, and things that don't evolve/fully evolved mons with 1k-1300 cp on average (I saw a snorlax with almost 2k earlier)

What might also work is fleeing and reengaging, which might reset it to the starting distance. That risks the Pokemon despawning while you weren't in the map view, though.

This is just a heads up for people that run into the Grimer glitch.

I caught a Grimer that had about 10CP or so, and every time I went to its status page the game would freeze. I couldn't candy it, the model wouldn't show up and I had to reset my phone each time.

I logged in using Bluestacks and I was able to get rid of it from there. Be careful catching Grimer.

I live in the countryside, there's a town nearby with 8 gyms and about 50 stops but it's 4 miles away so I have to bike through if I want to play

I'm barely lvl 16, that town has a bunch of lvl 25+ players, all on Mystic but I'm Valor. The town hall is now level 8 and has 6 1500 - 2000 Vaporeons on it

Overheard one fat fuck loudly talking about pokemon go outside a comic book shop yesterday, apparently he's one of the highest levels and he was bragging about how he has 3 accounts

I'm fucked man, I can't compete with this

Has anyone in a rural area hit a sort of progress wall in the mid teen levels? Once you get to like lv 13, basic stuff like pidgeys, rattatas, weedles, caterpies, etc, can take up to 3 or 4 balls to catch. But the amount of Pokestops and balls I have access to is the same as when I started, but the game is forcing me to use more. When I got my first set of great balls, I thought "oh, these are for catching the stronger stuff that appears at higher levels" but instead it's "Oh, I now have to arbitrarily use more resources to get the same stuff I've been getting no problem up til now." I can only feel robbed when a pidgey I'm gonna transfer anyway takes like 3 balls when all i have is little more than 20.

It also seems like the higher levels literally require a lucky egg and a mass evolution of pidgeys and weedles to progress, and I have a feeling i'm not wrong.

tl;dr: this game is the literal textbook definition of artificial difficulty.

I am in the same exact fucking boat, anon... But I'm lucky enough to live in a city, which I really hope you do too! and the highest level I've seen (that my friend has) is 21 and they prob started when the game came out, using their Galaxy's data to play while I'm relying on shitty wifi that I have to squat at, hope the game loads and still kicks me out anyway after completing 3-5 tasks in game...if I'm lucky. But I'm still level 14 with no team (clicking gyms crashes my game...) bc I put up with the bullshit to play a game I genuinely like to play (if I had data, I'd say 'love' instead) and you can do it too anon! Your persistance will make you prouder to call yourself a trainer compared to these "oh, I got to level 20 and I'm over the game now" fuckers that play going down the damn freeway.

While I agree with you and there's absolutely no reason to be smug about cheating, a spoofer can still single handedly wipe out your entire crew and hold a gym whenever he pleases.

He doesn't need to charge his battery and more dedicated ones run several accounts simultaneously, so they're always stocked on items. You can only hold a gym for as long as it takes for him to grab another bag of cheetos.

Do throw away revives and potions since gyms aren't for you yet.
Even if you have the candy and dust to evolve/power something up, DON'T and wait for your higher levels to bring you stronger pkmn to catch and maybe you'll get lucky and catch a decently high CP 2nd stage of that pkmn you wanted so then you can dedicate more candies to CP than evolving.
Also, if you are able to evolve a bunch of pkmn, save them for when you have a lucky egg for 2x exp Dex entries.
DON'T waste incense sitting at your house or work, walk, you scoop up more pkmn while moving.
If you feel like you shouldn't waste something bc of your low level, (incense, lures, lucky eggs, dust/candies esp) don't use; the wiser, future-you will prob be grateful you still have those items bc now they'll actually help you

These are things that I stupidly used prematurely
