http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/36904034/parents-are-naming-their-children-after-pokemon-go-charactersHere are the top Pokémon-related names the article lists:
1. Roselia - it's risen 5,859 spots
2. Onyx - up 2,184 spots
3. Star - 2,040
4. Eevee - 1,377 places
5. Ivy - 1,287 spots
6. Ash - 248 spots
7. Shay - 64 spots
First, none of these are Pokémon GO-exclusive characters. That is limited to Professor Willow and the team leaders (the latter of which didn't get officially revealed names until a couple of days ago). Second, even then Roselia, Ash, and Shaymin (I'm assuming) do not appear in Pokémon GO at all (at least at this point). They are general Pokémon characters, and that extends to the ones that actually do appear in the game. Third, names like Star, Ivy, and Shay seem to be moreso general names than Pokémon-based names. Heck, that probably extends to some extent to even Roselia and Onyx.
All in all, this article is mostly bullshit.
