Second, in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red and Blue Rescue Teams, Diglett, as an NPC, says "My feet still feel like they're walking on air". This means that Diglett has feet, check two. Finally, in Pokemon X and Y, Diglett learns moves like scratch, slash, sucker punch, aerial ace, and shadow claw. These moves all require some sort of claw like hands. What kind of animal has claw like hands? That's right, moles. I can't for sure say that Diglett does look like a mole, but it seems to me to be the most plausible explanation.
