I'd be fine with it. The reason for Megazard X's edgy color scheme seems to be to repeat Zekrom's popularity on an existing Pokémon.

It looks good, but not along side Zard Y. If X had the same color scheme, they'd look way too similar, which is probably why they went with the alternative color scheme.

the different palette on X is probably also to differentiate it as the one with a different type, so kids and newcomers can easily tell which charizard is the odd one out
