Help me out her /vp/. Now, I haven't played Pokemon since Crystal some 16 or so years ago. Thanks to pokemon go I got a rush of nostalgia and thought I should try out the newer games, so I bought a 3DS and Pokemon X. Well, I breezed through the game in a relatively short time and I was shocked how easy this game was. Not just easy but incredibly, boringly piss easy. Not one of my Pokemon fainted in my entire playthrough. Now I know this is nostalgia and I was probably shit at videogames as a kid, but still, I remembered the games to be at least a bit challenging in the endgame. tl;dr: Did these games get progressively easier over time or is my nostalgia fooling me and they've been piss easy from the start? Also, what is the hardest Pokemon game? I really did enjoy X somewhat but the difficulty really hurt my experience.

XY is easier than previous games. The series itself is generally very easy, but XY was definitely easier than the rest. The hardest would probably be BW2 challenge mode. If you want to add some spice to your games I'd suggest nuzlockes or randomizing for older games. There are also plenty of romhacks for better difficulty.

You will notice that they actually got progessively easier, and they are also children games, i would recommend you to do a nuzlocke run, or play BW2 or HGSS, they were actually a little bit harder Pokemon X and Y are actually the easiest games as of today

At least the trainers in the new games evolve their pokemon. The Route from the Snorlax to Fuscia must have had at least 25 Pidgeys in it.

>>27416959 The games have always been easy, but Gen 6 has been even easier because pretty much everything is handed to you. The reason the older games were "hard" were because trainer distribution and XP rates were shit so you had to grind on wild shitmons or be underleveled.

Gen 6 is trash

>>27417009 >The hardest would probably be BW2 challenge mode. Just looked that up. Why hasn't this been included in every game since then? An optional higher difficulty for older fans seems the ideal solution. Shame that you apparently have to beat the game first.

As soon as you beat Morty, the 4th gym, the trainers never get higher than like Level 22 until the 8th gym.

Did you use the exp share?

>>27417111 >dem trips. Why? Because "muh" uniqueness that Game Freak wants with games. The same reason following Pokemon are only in HGSS, Radar's in Sinnoh and Kalos, and reason why we can kiss goodbye to DexNav or anything resembling it in Sun and Moon.

>>27417117 >He's got a point though His attempt at a "point" was that all of the older games were only hard because of that reason.
If he wants to specify the Johto games, he should.

>literally just beat Wallace in Omega Ruby with a level 45 Mightyena spamming Crunch It's making me not even want to finish the game.

X&Y really are piss easy, it's an established fact. You'll be better off playing Gold or Silver on an emulator and that's it.

For Sun and Moon I'm not going to evolve my pokemon, or use exclusively shit pokemon you get on the first couple of routes.
