How would you feel about a Pokemon Go season of the Pokemon anime?
Either Ash or a new protagonist travel to an all new region where most of the pokemon trainers and even civilians belong to either of the 3 teams (Valor, Mystic, and Instinct). Ash also finds out that instead of 6 gyms with badges, there are instead hundreds of gyms owned by one of the different factions.
Maybe even have the professor give him a pokemon radar on his pokedex or something. Or if you really wanted to stretch it, have a subplot about how pokemon don't need to be weakened to be caught in this region.
