There, a bullshit, ridiculous scenario that shouldn't happen but actually has the potential to, unlike yours.

What should happen is Ash borrows Trevor's mega stone, mega evolves his Charizard to fight Allen's Charizard and the battle brings them both to the brink. The intensity of the battle or some shit like that forces them both to revert to their standard Charizard forms, and Allen's obsession with mega evolution means he's not as well equipped to battle without using Charizard X, and Ash and his Charizard win out on account of being used to fighting without the help of mega evolution.

That's ridiculous even by the standards of the anime.

Characters don't just lose all of their skill in the middle of battle like that

Not saying he would lose all his skill. It'd still be a tough battle for Ash since Allen's a tough trainer, but the shift from battling with Mega Charizard that Allen is used to to fighting with reg-Charizard that Ash is used to would shift it slightly in the latter's favour.

I dunno, I thought it was more sensible than AshCharizard Y.
