Dewott's face is similar to Oshawott's, and beyond that has the same shells and feet. Only thing that transitions during the Dewott phase is facial hair. Otherwise? Samurott is a stand-alone design.
Ampharos has the same face as its prior to evos, and the same ears, hands, feet, and tail. It's basically a sleek, hairless version of Flaaffy. In terms of consistency, the tail and ears/face are characteristic of all 3 stages.
Samurott is basically Dragonite. You can argue that maybe 1-2 characteristics carried over, but otherwise the transition is a little too extreme IMO. First 2 forms are pretty consistent with some changes indicative of evolution, and then a bunch of characterstics are just lost.
