What's the confusion? Vulpix and Sandshrews found in Alola are ice and ice/steel. Why would they change? It's species variation. It's so fucking obviously species variation. The whole thing with Darwin was animals varying on different islands, and that one bird with the dances shows that they're going for that idea.

Yeah, I agree, the theme seems to be divergent evolutions. We have the dancing birds, and if the leaks are right, the starters and rockruff, and these alternate forms. It's cool, but I'd prefer new pokemon anyway, or at least, pokemon that are based on old pokemon, but their own species, like Bellossom.

That's REALLY fucking old though. IIRC, the last time Deltas were legal was 2007.

There's no incentive for them to bring something that old (which was also TCG-exclusive) and put it into the main series games.

RS didn't exclude anything, you just couldn't catch a lot of them in Hoenn. Through events, FRLG and the Gamecube games, all the old ones were obtainable and usable in RS.

they just need to make it a gen that focuses primarily on new pokemon (like gen 3 and gen 5) with few old pokemon, so they dont have to do all the model work right away and they can do the rest for the third version or remakes of the gen
