Reminder that these are literally pokemon that were introduced into the islands, and changed accordingly. They're the same.
It's like asking to rename an elephant just because the ears got smaller (or bigger, I don't know which came first, Asian or African, and I really don't care but it was the fastest example that came to my mind)
