1. This generation needs to promote it's own features rather than older ones. It would be as if Gen 5 advertised the Rotom forms if they advertised Mega Evolution.
2a. Irrelevant, using that logic Rowan should be the professor of Alola because he studied evolution considering alolan forms.
2b. Not evidence discounting mega pokemon.
3. The fact that Z-moves require conditions that mega's can't adhere to is more evidence of their inclusion than removal.
4. Still not evidence discounting mega evolution. In any case Totem Pokemon are implied to be wild Pokemon as opposed to being partnered up with a trainer so mega evolution wouldn't be accessible. If anything Totem Pokemon are essentially the Alpha of their species.
5. The Bracelet. There's nothing suggesting it can't be upgraded mid or late game.
Additionally anything that's a Pokemon form of some sort has no chance of being removed. At most you could expect a change of type.
