The site says that they copy the Dances used "on the field", not "made by their opponents".

So if you have a partner with any Dance, it'll copy that.

If this bird has at least 500 BST, is going to be a real threat.

Looks like a honey creeper due to the beak and head shape. That and the nectar eating and different form per island is neat. The real things all stemmed out from one finch that landed on Hawaii. Mixed with other themes of course.

Here's a list of the 'dance' moves that Dancer might copy, i.e. Moves with 'Dance' in their Japanese names -

Lunar Dance
Quiver Dance
Feather Dance
Swords Dance
Teeter Dance
Petal Dance
Fiery Dance
Dragon Dance
and I'm assuming Revelation Dance

This makes me think about how Petal Dance and Lunar Dance will work since the first locks you into it and the latter causes you to faint.

This Pokemon could be broken in triple battles, assuming it learns some dance moves itself and stats are not complete garbage. Immagine 3 Quiver Dances for every pokemon in 1 turn. Or completely shutting down a physical pokemon with a -6 on attack with Feather Dance with just 1 attack. Roosting away every damage (should be on the moveset of a bird) and finishing of enemies with 9 Fiery Dance and getting some Special Attack by doing so.

Those birds are pretty much the Minus and Plusle of this gen as in rappresentatives of this battle style, I doubt they will be that useful competitive wise, probably Chatot or Xatu level or even reach UU in the fanfic metas but they will be always solid S rank designs.

Yeah that's fair, culture is really really hard to replace unless you kill everyone and physically replace them with your people. See: the Mongols and China; Romans and Greece; Franks and Romans.
