>>27493258>Just because it's old? How shallowYou read that wrong. The artstyle will naturally change becaue PEOPLE are making it, and they change themselves.
Its not a "its new, i like it, its old, its bad."
Realise that change, in art, is NATURAL. Itd be weird/forced/lazy for the style to stay the same. The artists, and the project are being halted from developing.
>change for the sake of change won't necessarily improve things. Its natural. Things change, because they do naturally and gradually. Look at pikachu, he didnt go from gen 1 to the current design in a year, it changed over time.
Stagnation out of fear of change won't improve things necessarily.
>People work less so other people will have to work less.Wrong. Its to keep consistency. Look at any gen 1 sprite from the original Jap games, then look at the toys, and look at the anime. Shit looks different across the board.
The new art direction makes it easier to TRANSLATE the in game characters to the drawings, to the anime, to the toys. They look THE SAME in all forms of media.
>So modern kids don't like gen 1 pokemon, is that what are you saying? You just wanted to read that that way didn't you?
Kids today like Yokai Watch, Pretty Cure and shit like that. The new art style is more in line with what other kid shows look like today. Hell, look at Sailor Moon and Crystal.
If Pokemon doesnt want to be alienated as an awkward sore thumb, it has to keep up. Kids bring in the most cash in, and believe me, "it looks weird," its a valid excuse for kids to not like something.
>Please enlight meYou have to make that shit so that some random guy comes in tomorrow and does that shit, and it looks the same way as yours.
"Muh they are lazy!"
No nigga, its CONSISTENCY, you have an animation studio, an inhouse team, and a bunch of other guys replicating your drawing, and the company DOESN'T want the pokemon to look different. Its cool on the TCG, but theh CREDIT the specific artist. On OFFICIAL drawings
