Litten's final evolution looks kinda evil, would fit for a paul-like rival. One of the companions can have Poplio

It also allows them to potentially keep Greninja around, since the kids worship him they may want to do that.

Unlikely. with SM lacking a gym league, this would be Ash's last chance at a victory. the anime has already made a back-up for when this happened by saying just winning the league won't make him a master. they'll have him go to Alola under the idea its the next step towards that.

Which means he'll get Litten who'll Charizard 2 : Except Ash will hopefully understand better how to keep a Fire Type with a Temper and Pride in check.

I hope he doesn't get Popplio because then we'll be back to "Ash not evolving his Pokemon" and Pikachu already has fucking dibs on the Z Move so it's just fodder.

Kalos team may be good on the grounds that it actually evolved things but he still has 3 flying types and 2 dragon types.

Yeah, type match ups dont mean nearly as much in the anime. All of his Kalos team are showing to be competent battlers, though Talonflame is getting more and more relegated to jobber duties
