Put comfey, flygon, goodra, magcargo, accelgor and all the crustaceans in there. Bug types are weird, sometimes they count slugs and snails and crabs sometimes they don't. And comfey should at least be part grass, we already have one plant fairy thats pure fairy.

I think heliolisk is part normal because it generates electricity using the sun rather than generating it itself. Without the sun it would be a normal type. Pyroar gets it for stab hyper voice because lions roar.

I'm glad they kept the pink trio all different. There is nothing wrong with Chansey being a normal type.

AT MOST Gyrados should have been retyped to water dark to implement dark in the first gen (maybe primeape too) but he suits water flying.

You're right, Chansey would probably be op if it was a fairy. Same reason I think gyarados didn't end up a dragon, That and they wanted dragonite to be more special. They should have made it's mega dragon though.

Gyarados is based for a large part on a windvane that looks like a dragon, fling is more important to its design.

Growlithe looks less like fire than Rockruff looks rock, because the latter actually has rocks in its design.
And donkey/horse are full of mud, so they are as much 'on mud' as Rapidash and Ponyta are on fire

Graveler looks like pebbles glued together by mud (rock/ground)
Gigalith is a fucking rock
Tropius is a flying tree dinosaur so it makes sense too
MSceptile is a grass velociraptor
Sawsbuck should have changed types every season but normal grass/fire/ice and water would make sense
goatbro is great, but he probably should have been grass/rock
the little hoarsie makes sense too

Normal is supposed to be "typeless", they type for Pokemon who don't have any elements or affinities. Normal/Flying is cool because Flying is an accessory type and outside of Tornadus there are no pure Flying types, so Flying types need a primary type placeholder.

Girafarig is literally two pokemon fused into the same body, so one head being Psychic and one head being normal makes sense. but why the fuck is Pyroar Normal/Fire? Why is Heliolisk Normal/Electric? Just make them whatever their affinity is. All you're doing is adding an unnecessary Fighting weakness and an irrelevant Ghost immunity.

Gyarados is because it's not actually a dragon, it evolves from a magikarp. it's a legend about how if a carp can hop up a waterfall called the dragon's gate it can attain dragon-like things. I'm glad it's not dragon, it just gets a fuck ton of dragon moves.

and anyways, Pyroar isn't actually burning, unlike Rapidash, zebstrika is more electric than heliolisk, seeing as you point out, it gets its power from the sun rather than within

Why did GF fuck up with these types. Why on Earth is normal the secondary type / flying the primary type. That's not how those types function. Tornadus works because it's a fucking cloud. Noivern's a dragon that flies, not a cloud that dragons. And Normal isn't a secondary type. If something's normal, it's normal. If it's more Fire or Electric than normal, it's not normal. Bibarel makes sense because it's a normal beaver that also spits water.
