It baffles me that they left these things in gen 6 but never used them outside of the normal one. Hell they even programmed in a fairy one.

Removing normal would fuck over sets that use it with fake out to activate unburden and shit, they don't use the gem for its damage. I guess the other ones were removed because you could easily overpower the enemy in one big hit, maybe too powerful in 3v3 singles
