Made this thread yesterday and it died fast.

Leaks say Gen 1 mons keep their gen 1 stats and typing, this pretty much any pokemon with high special is fucking OP.

Chansey has 105 base special attack, Magenton 125 base special defense, and Haunter base 115 special defense for starters.

How do you think this will playout?

Eviolite Gen 1 special walls fucking special attackers seems likely.

Doesn't matter. This forces some gen 1 mons to use their base abilities rather than hidden abilities, and a lot of these special attackers are fucked by other things.

It has 64 points added to it's BST and can hold an item.

It essentially invalidates Mega Mewtwo.

You can't use them in official tournaments, onlt in special ones.

They can also just change how Eviolite works or remove it entirely. So many things are being switched up with Sun&Moon that anything is possible. At this point everything is pure speculation.

And yeah Mega Fug pretty much proves that competitive balance is not ranked highly for Game Freak.

Why would Chansey be broken anyways? Its SpD stays the same, you can use Ice Beam over Seismic Toss and are no longer hard walled by ghosts. Wew lads, so op!!!!11

And Mewtwo is already Ubers anywayw, so who gives a shit? Not to mention that even with 150 Spd it won't be better than Primals, Ho-Oh, Arceus or Xerneas.

Articuno could finally put offensive pressure, defensive sets for both Zapdos and Moltres would be even easier to pull than ever.

Actually, Defensive Moltres would be troublesome thanks to Will-o-Wisp if that ever happens.
Not even talk about Mewtwo, 744 BST is nuts.

Gyarados will hit 580 BST, basically Dragonite lite.
Cloyster would have a glimpse of Special Defense. Same with Seadra, and factoring Eviolite, it would be better than Kingdra, same with Magneton.

The Hitmons are fucked beyond belief and both Charizard and Blastoise would be way inferior than Venusaur.

Unless you seriously think gen 1 alakazam is broken. Also, their stats - if unchanged - aren't gong to be great. You'll miss speed tiers with certain mons and they'll lose a lot of power without natures boosting them up.

Furthermore, HA will be restricted from them.

Once Gen 2 happened they split special into 2 stats and rebalanced them.

Leak says they'll keep their gen one stats, meaning all pokemon will have the same special attack as they do special defense.

This is supposed to mark the difference between a Pokémon transferred from the VC versions.

An Alakazam from the current games will have 135 base Special Attack and 85 base Special Defense, but one native from the VC versions will have 135 base on both. Just to make them "special".

They had adjustment. For example, Charizard Special was base 85 in Gen I, but in Gen II it base Special Attack was 109 and its Special Defense was base 85. When you transfer, the adjustment happen.

The Surf/Thunderbolt/Blizzard Gyarados from Gen I was useless in Gen II. Same with Tauros and other Pokémon like Hypno and Flareon. Other got a benefit either by increased special defense (Machamp, Hitmons, Blastoise) or Attack (Charizard, Arcanine, Magmar and a bunch of others)

I'd also like to see some aesthetic changes, such as

About 30% of the gen 1 Pokemon have at least a chance to hold an item when transferred to gen 2. Some items are only available this way.

Most of 'em had shitty berries, but most of the pokemon specific items came from this. Lucky Punch, Quick Powder, Thick Club, Light Ball, all of this stuff came from traded foreward gen 1 pokes.
