So I heard pokemon from Y/R/B will keep their gen 1 stats.

Competitive wise, is that good or bad? Cause I got some 'mons I wanna use online, and I've been grinding out EVs lately

The only real difference in gen 1 stats was special stat counting for both special attack and special defense

Not a lot will change except people with good special attack with be accompanied by good special defense

But by relevant, I was kinda talking about giving Poliwrath a Alola form for Sun/Moon like Exeggutor (who's also one of my favorite Pokemon).

Por Poliwrath istelf is worse.
Its Special back then is just 70.
In GSC it had 70 Special Attack and 90 Special Defense.

Poliwrath would actually be worse from Gen 1. His special stat was only 70 but in every gen after, his spec attack is 90 some.

He's got a pretty cool niche.
