I know bots are kill from pokespots and gyms, but do they still catch Pokemon? I haven't heard anything about Pokemon API or anything like that changing. Are bots still farming candies, XP, and dragonites right now while they wait to bypass gyms again? Or are we sure they're 100% kill right now and not even sending the servers requests?

I actually stopped playing this game for a few days now. I haven't completed it yet or anything but the game lacks so much depth. It was fun at first but when you're left with pidgey and weedle, there's only so much fun to be had. Even Gyms are like "why bother?" when you can get gang-raped by CP500 pokemon vs your CP3000 Dragonite

Cool projection, but I'm not a botter, I'm just stating the facts that every time Niantic is attempting to hurt botters and spoofers, you're the one paying the price for it.

And if you're gonna drive/ride to a populated place with a lot of Pokestops, what reason is there not to play on the road if you can? Why shouldn't I play on the bus or while I'm riding shotgun?

I mean, I can't anymore because of what Niantic did, but beforehand why would you just put your hands in your lap and wait with your phone off before you arrive wherever you're planning to play?

That was true when the scanner worked (and I'm an ANTI bot/spoof). Now it's just nothing and that's it. If you want a pedometer you're better of with the pokewalker. It's not a walking app, it's an ""exploration"" one so if you don't have any idea about where to go it becomes completely useless.

That's because any fucker with a ragtag team of 6 shitmons can come and knock over your gym within a few tries. Meanwhile when attempting to prestige your own gyms you'd better hope you can at least 1v1 the lowest Pokemon in the ranks or you're basically fucked,. And good fucking luck if you attempt to do so when some guy on another team is actively dismantling the very same gym.

Why the fuck did they think the 1 mon restriction for prestiging was a good idea? It makes it next to impossible to actively defend your own gyms.

If you ever attempted to throw pokeballs, use the in-game footprint tracker or go over 30 miles per hour with the app open, you're hurt more by Niantic's changes than the botters.

They just cracked unknown6 like 5 minutes ago, so botting is probably gonna be back in roughly an hour or two.

I'm gonna stay sitting here between 4 pokestops like I've been forced to do the past three days or so thanks to Niantic's shitty attempts to stop botting and successfully stopping scanning so I can't even actually look for Pokemon around me.

If you didn't use scanner, you weren't a player in the first place because it wasn't a game. Scanners mainly became really popular because of the 3-steps bug. When one of the CORE features of the game, and the most needed one since you need candies and the likes to level up and do anything in arenas, doesn't work, it's hardly a game to begin with, it's just a waste of time. If anything the scanners bought Niantic some time before people leaving because of their shit, they should be happy for this.
Sorry, you can't judge scanner in the same way depending of whether the app itself works or not.

Now they're just focused on two things: 1 releasing the game in many places as possible (this increases the basic milking)
2 using the spoofing/botting problem as an excuse to shorten the leash on legit players (catch rates nerf, no tracker, increased flee rates etc)

They don't actually give a shit about botters. THEN, when they will be settled you'll see more items in the shop like:

No footprints and no scanning websites, in spite of the fact that said websites were available to everyone, plus pokemon are more difficult to catch and no exp bonuses for excellent throws, presumably because people were leveling too fast and also because Niantic wants you to buy their shit. (again, hurting everyone but the botters) The walking distance for the eggs is fucked, you can't go biking while playing Pokemon Go either and there have been people banned for going on plane trips after turning the app off

Botters and spoofers meanwhile only get temporary bans.

Save your Stardust until level 20 or so and your evolutions until 15.

Mass evolve everything with lucky eggs, don't worry about making third form evolutions in most cases.

Walking from pokestop to pokestop is more productive than aimlessly walking to find pokémon

Catch everything that pops up, the Stardust and candy adds up

Pick mystic, life is so much easier if you can just chuck shit in gyms and collect rather than playing on the other two and having to take the gyms and then hope they stay defended long enough for you to walk over and take more

Always have eggs incubating and make sure your phone doesn't go to sleep when you're walking to hatch

Don't evolve three-step Pokemon until you have enough candy for the third evolution. It's hell to evolve an Ivysaur, but be catching higher Bulbasaurs in the wild by the time you get another 100 Bulbasaurs candy.

Find a heavily lured spot and plant yourself there.

Egg hatching only measures the shortest distance between two points in a four-minute period.

Don't use stardust until level 20, because you'll level up quickly and find wild mon with higher CP than your leveled mon.

Mass evolve with lucky eggs.

I've seen gyms held for days with übermons like Lapras+Gyrados+Snorlax+Slowbro combos in the outskirts of my town. Of course never in my team, but even if it was and even if I could manage to put one of mine in, some fuckboy would surely hit me out of there quickly with mine being the weakest pokemon in the chain.

From what you said it seems you are trying out some sort of an unofficial port. WP, just like iOS relies heavily on good optimization of it's apps to achieve that smooth performance, so a situation like this, where brute force is required, won't suit it's capabilities.

At the time of a query, the game measures the shortest distance between where you were at the previous ping and where you are at the current ping. If you walk in a curve, you get less distance than you actually walked. If you double back, you may get no distance.

Also you can't go over 20kph at any point.

Egg hatching works if you stay under 16KPH (10 MPH)

Keep stardust until 30, as wild pokemon CP evens out after level 30 and youll need your stardust and candies for 30-40

Pop lucky egg, evolve one 1 step of a 3 step pokemon, pidgey for example as its low cost. evolve to pidgeotto and throw to the grinder, dont waste the 50/100 on 3rd step evolutions unless you plan on using the final form for keeping gyms

Nah I just see them in random nodes nearby occasionally. Other notable mentions include a handful of eevees, magnemites, jigglypuffs, and lots of oddishes and bellsprouts

Gengar was from a local park at night and they had lures up so I'm not even sure about it's origins. I actually have enough candy to take a good gastly with perfect IV's to gengar, so I'm waiting to catch more.

I couldn't find either of the nearby gastly and they fell off my radar. Ho-hum

It's the metadata each camera stores that has stuff such as camera model, time of taking the picture, parameters that were used such as ISO values etc. You can check it under the properties of each picture.

The second Snorlax came out at 1600 CP with an ideal moveset for Gym defense (Zen Headbutt/Hyper Beam) and ridiculously good IVs. It's now at 1800 CP and Top Mon.

Cruising, for me. I'll get a buddy or two to roll with me, go to downtown Seattle and cruise all the lured spots, take out a few gyms. That's really the only way it's fun right now. I was enjoying the scanning apps too, but I don't bother hunting anything other than rares. At my apartments, two buildings over, there's a spawn for medium rare poké. I've gotten like Rhyhorns, glooms, Staryu and parasect from my parking lot at night.

Has anyone tested the Eevee naming trick lately? My friend said they tried to evolve 3 Eevees in a row to Vaporeon, but each time they named it Rainer they got Flareon.

To further test it I named one of mine Sparky and got Vaporeon. Can anyone else confirm these?

I wish there were pokecenters or something, if you didn't want to balance it around people using it to spam gyms harder put like a "haven't battled in 21 hours" limitation on using on using it and it only tops off a couple select pokemon then goes on cooldown.

Using potions just feels awful because it's usually really hard to avoid overhealing and wasting them.

There's a tutorial on gym battles at level 5 dude.

tl;dr

Tap the screen to attack, you're locked into an animation with a length that scales do how much damage it does.
Swipe the screen to dodge when it flashes yellow- if a pokemon is using it's special attack it'll start rearing up and there will be a pop up saying the move name- that's so you can stop attacking and prepare to dodge the special.

Touch and hold to use your special when any of your blue bars are full.

tl;dr tap to attack and build up your meter, watch out for their own attacks (you need to understand the timing, you can only attack so many times between their own attacks if you intend to dodge, you cannot dodge WHILE attacking), avoid their specials which do massive damage and use your own

Thing is my friend has never gotten a Vaporeon yet. They have only tried the trick with Rainer. And every time I named my pokemon up until this last attempt, I got the desired pokemon. And I've done this 6 times, which the odds of that are 1/729.

I highly doubt I have that kind of luck. I'm willing to bet they changed it
