For the first time EVER I might actually box my starter. If these leaks are true I might use Popplio but I don't particularly like any of them. Might also use Salandit but I'm waiting to see more Pokemon.

4 other 'mons, probably Pikipek if it stays useful.
Lurantis looks like it might be a good grass type.
I hope Marowak and audino are in this game. I havent played a single game since Gen4 where I didnt have a Marowak during the main story, except White obviously. But I got one immediately and finished the region with it.

This is why I hate new pokemon games. Everything is leaked and people decide their teams before the game is even out. The initial reaction to a new pokemon should be in the game. "OH HOLY SHIT WHAT IS THIS THING I NEED THIS" is way more exciting than "OH HOLY SHIT THIS LOOKS COOL I WANT THIS" *3 months later. "oh its this thing alright, I'll keep this one on my team". All the excitement of discovering a new pokemon on your own is lost

Newfag who wasn't a fan when DP and BW came out detected.

The only leaked things are the starter final evos. There have always been "promotional" Pokémon revealed before the games come out, since Gen II .You still have over half of the dex to discover on your own, the problem was the delay between Japan and the rest of the world.

XY sucked because we were supposed to be all able to experience the game at the same time and have that feeling of discovery, but the new mons were so few and over half of them revealed before release, since they had to model everything and the main atttraction of the game were the new graphics and megas. Now with SM we're probably back to a good number of Pokémon left to find out when we play, made even better by the international release

Dunno, if the rumors of Water Growlithe/Arcanine are true I'm 100% using them. Starter choice hinges on that, if it is Rowlet if not Popplio.

Vikavolt and Salandit are based, will probably use them too. Mudsdale Drampa Ice Sandslash Ice Ninetales and Mimikyu are all "maybes". Exeggutor looks cool, if I use Popplio I might use him.

there's no way to methodically plan your team when it's a new gen. we don't know the base stats, we don't know the opponents, we don't know when Salandit or Vikavolt will even show up

You can do whatever you want, but in Gen V I thought Scrafty and Krokodil were awesome before the game came out, I ended up using Lilligant and Eelektross, it's more organic if you don't plan it out beforehand I feel.

A lot of these teams could turn out to be garbage if GF fucks us.

We almost have the same team with exception to Minior and Wimpod

My bug bro is going to be Vikavolt but Wimpod is also a top tier design, hopefully its evo's do it justice along with Salandit
