In case of alola forms, just because icetales is clean, doesnt mean that if Ninetales was created TODAY, that it would be as clean as both examples are, just that the alolan one respects the characteristics of the original since it's not a different pokemon, but an adaptation of it
and if you want to get petty, just look at exeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeggutor and the argument falls apart.
In case of the MEGAS, which even though i hate, is not a fair comparison either, since they are not normal evolutions but MEGA evos that go even further beyond, they in their concept, are supposed to be over designed and filled with shit (one of the reasons i hate megas), it exceeds normal evolutions and the designs show it.
If you want to make this dumb comparison just take the regional birds, it works better since they fit the same role even if they arent the same pokemon.
