It is a Dark/Cosmic-type Pokémon. Marshadow is an alien that lands on the Pokémon World in Alola and tries to either take it over or destroy it. It is the true final boss after taking down the supposed evil team leader who was helping it to get something in return.

marshadow has no type, it's set to ??? until you attack which turns him into that, basically protean but if you use another attack it becomes a dual type, if you choose water first and then dark it turns into water/dark and if you choose another attack like grass it turns dark/grass, a Z-move can also change his typing
