I played before the full release, and I hear the early game was changed dramatically, but I recall the game being alright. nothing special but nothing particularly horrible either. Worth playing if you're not in it for the story and you don't mind the fakemon.

Trying to intentionally make the rival annoying so you hate them does not actually make them a good rival.
