I personally think he burnt his bridges/ contact(s) with that NO ES FAKE drama some gens back and he's been outta the loop since then.
That's why he seems to be so sure of stuff being fake, he doesn't know shit but wants that E-Pin fame as being the goto guy for info. I mean, logic dictates that most Pokemon leaks are fake and like ... who the fuck woulda guessed that the starters final forms would be leaked in some anime concept art?
