Because it's supposed to be "salamander bandit" but it forces you to mangle the salamander part to make it fit.

The first two syllables of SALL-uh-MAN-derr get bastardized to "suh-LAN-dit", when they could have stayed SALL-uh-MAN-dit to keep the inflection in the right place.

Salandit is an awful name, I saw your thread before, I completely agree etc. but the other names are fine. Clodsdale wouldn't signify the ground typing well enough. A pebble is too small.

That sounds about right. I love Gen V, but many of the names missed the mark. Especially Braviary. Wargle was fine, or Bravian even. The worst offenders were move names though, changing Nitro Charge to Flame Charge is unforgivable.

That is exactly what OP is saying. I can pronounce Salandit just fine. So can many other people. He wants to make it Salamandit just because he can't comprehend having to use a different sound for a single letter than the one he wants to.
