Why you people struggle to understand why Charizard is not Dragon type? It's because Dragons are fucking resistant to Water while Charizard is weak to Water on a fisiological/cellular/molecular level.

Let's not forget that Lucario is heavily based on the Egyptain god Anubis.

His typing was not. An Anubis like Pokemon makes more sense being Dark or Ghost or even Psychic. Not fighting or steel. I'm thinking it's Steel so it wouldn't get shat on by Flying and Psychic type pokemon outright.

Yeah but it gains resistances too you dumb fuck. Avalugg is literally bottom-of-the-barrel PU.
Tyranitar has every weakness undder the sun and guess who has been an OU staple for forever? 4x weaknesses mean very little when it comes to viability, and Avalugg being part-Steel would be fantastic because it has fucking Rapid Spin and Recover.

Jynx could have been Ghost-type or perhaps Fairy-type, but we'll just have to deal with what we got.
Weavile is based partially on certain demons.
We don't everything about Drampa, but it does feel a bit different from the other dragons. Perhaps its traits as a caretaker have something to do with its typing.
Venomoth cannot have three types.

Fairy fits a "deceiver pokemon" and they had two gens before that to retype it into Dark or Ghost. But they didn't, so fuck it. Another possible reason it fits Fairy is that despite being pure steel in some parts its lightweight.
