>>27649913I really don't think that's it.
For me, it's because it's just so bland. It's literally just a sandcastle with yellow dots poked into it.
>BanetteIt's not really based on any animal or object; it's a unique monster. However, the floppy design, the zipper, and the pin on its back make it look like a doll. It's unique, and at the same time gets the point across. A great design.
>ChandelureObviously a chandelier, but it's not really based on a generic hanging chandelier. It also has a unique "face" pattern on it. It's obvious what object it is, without being boring and unoriginal.
>AegislashA sword that weilds a shield and uses itself to attack. That's a cool concept for a pokemon. It's got a big spooky eye, and floating cloth that it uses to wield its shield. It's a generic sword, but backed with a cool concept and original details to keep it from just being "a longsword with an eye".
>ShirodesunaIt's as generic of a sandcastle design you could get. Google "sandcastle clipart" and look at the images. Two towers on either side, a square base with a curved "entrance", and a thing on top of it. The ONLY other features it has are the two tiny dots and the shovel on its head.
>B-But it lures people in and eats them! That isn't original or interesting at all. Chandelure and Drifblim already do that, just off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's at least four more that do the same exact thing.
It's just so bare-bones. Maybe if they tried to make it look a little more spooky? Or, better yet, make an original ghost. Literally the only reason it exists is because Alola's hawaii, and hawaii is known for its beaches, and beaches have sandcastles.
