My favorite type is Water, and I'm a Fairyfag as well who likes prettier and more elegant designs. I've wanted a Mermaid Pokemon for fucking ever (especially since Fairy was revealed), so when I saw Poppmaid and didn't really care that much for it I was confused. But I think I figured out why I'm not too crazy about it.

The design is just too safe. Seals and sea lions are essentially 'mermaids of dogs' already, so to make the Mermaid Pokemon a seal... it just seems kind of weak to me. Most of the 'Mermaid' parts are just the parts that look like its wearing clothing, and the rest just looks like a seal. It doesn't even have fish fins or anything, just seal flippers. There's nothing about this design that went for creative or exciting, it's... just a seal dressed like a Mermaid.

That's the big thing, I think. I wanted a Mermaid for a while, and for THIS to be it... I'm just really underwhelmed. I don't find the design bad, I just don't really think it's special or interesting. It's just sort of... there.
