I'm trying to decide which game I should buy between Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum

Which one should I get?

Platinum is objectively better than Diamond and Pearl. Better spread of 'Mons and the graphics are improved from D/P.

I sincerely can't think of a reason you'd pick the other two (objectively speaking), they're really dated, and platinum fixes some of it's biggest technicals problems. (and expands the postgame)

OP here, I never played gen 4 or 5 (never had a ds until I got a 3ds when xy came out) and I wanted to beat them before gen 7 came out.

Literally me. I went with Platinum when I took the dive, and I don't regret it. Chances are, you've already gone through Johto, so HGSS aren't exactly necessary or new.
