>>27688389My husband plays with me, but they aren't as serious about it as I am. They do IVs and EVs. But I'm the one that spends most time breeding a bunch of pokemon, shiny hunting, and collecting various pokeballs. It's fun when we battle though.
He didn't really have nostalgia for it as it came out to the west when he was much older. I pretty much am the one that got him playing again, as he didn't play since Gen 2 when we first met.
We play lots of other games together too. Though we both have games that the other doesn't play (I'm not big on Etrian Odyssey, where he is) It's not really an issue though when we have different tastes. There's no "That's for kids" kind of mentality for most games.
Honestly, the only person that ever gave me issues for playing pokemon was when I was a senior in high school about to graduate and one of the girls at the table was weirded out I was still playing. I've been playing since '98, so I wasn't stopping any time soon. (What made it better was everyone was playing at the Graduation Practice so I can't imagine how she felt about that lol)
If we ever have kids, I'm making them pick up pokemon though.
