Like, that's a Rockruff secret ... not a "rockruff and starters" secret.

I still think it's syncro evol. Making that a Starter and Rockruff evol only feature would work great.

As for the Coro Secret, I think that they will detail that how he evolves. Seems like you may have to leave him somewhere overnight to wolf out.

But given that it's a Japanese to English translation and the official English news never touched on this I can't possible know how it's meant to be taken/ read. (The starters have a secret interaction with Rockruff would make prefect sense).

Also, the only leak worth a damn is the Chinese one.

Very little. The split evo leak hasn't really gotten anything completely right and they mention Alolan Arcanine when we've already seen regular Arcanine in one of the trailers. Every other Pokémon that got an Alola form wasn't shown in its regular form at all, except for the Meowth which CAME WITH THE PLAYER CHARACTER fromt their home region/Kanto, so it's not Alolan. Could be a minor error like the Fairy Wind Gardevoir and Ice Punch Blaziken, but it does reduce the credibility of the split evo leaks, which was already very low.

Guys, if you really dislike the starter evos so much, any split form will likely not be that different from it, specially if they are day/night forms and share a Pokédex slot like the leaks say. They'll be a Palette swap at worst or like what Alola Forms are to old Pokémon at best.You'll still hate Pearlio wether it's like what we've seen or if it's an edgy Water/Dark night form.
