Megas are stupid and don't belong in Pokemon.

"Alola forms" or regional forms make complete sense when it comes to pokemon and evolution/adaptation/etc.

I thought that mega evolutions were neat but kind of cheesy. You can plow through the game with them or use them online and pretty much require the other person to pull out a mega of their own. It doesn't help that, AFAIK, I won't be able to take my mega stone collection to S&M.

Alolan forms seem a little lazy but I think that's the direction they should've gone in the first place and I'd rather see new variations of old pokemon that I liked than new pokemon that suck. Living desserts are terrible but I think ghost/fire Marowak is great. That being said, I'd like to see Alolan forms of mons from more than gen1. I'm really hoping for a new Octillery that's water/poison with markings like a blue-ringed octopus.

Alolan forms have been solid so far, but it's been entirely gen 1 and we don't know how the stat rebalancing changes things either. At 700+ Pokemon, I understandu why they have to make choices on who gets an alt and who doesn't, but I still want MUHFAVORITES to be the ones they pick.

Mega's are cool. I've always dug "powered up/super/limit break" type shit. Most of the Mega designs I absolutely love too. And, when I dont love them, there's always the base form I can just use instead.

Alolan forms are something I've been wanting for awhile. A "subspecies" where they remix the type. Seems like a fun way to spice things up without going full overboard. I'm sure some people will call it lazy, but that insult will be thrown at anything that's not reinventing the wheel. It's just a low hanging fruit of insults, has no real impact. I just hope that it isn't Kanto only, there's so many pokemon that could use this concept.

They both fit with what pokemon is. Pokemon have always been very flexible in their forms, being able to change under certain conditions. They both feel right at home.

With a Regional Form, you can't have your old Pokemon gain those benefits. You have to catch a new one, and the old Pokemon is left in the dust. It's like abandoning a dear friend.

Primal reversion boosts stats, chages typing, and changes abilities for Groudon and kyogre
Alolan: probably the exact same thing.

I'd say it's most likely it's a reconstructed stat distribution change. They may gain a few points but it won't be a leap like Mega Evolution at all.

On the mega note, I want more fucking megas. Idk why people bitch about them. They're literally just evolution that allow you to revert after because a 4th evolution is too far. If they were standard evolutions then we could have 6 OP mon on the team always. Once we get enough megas hopefully they drop the one time use in battle thing and make them permanent evolutions. That's assuming they make more megas ever.

I prefer megas. The idea is good but it gets screwed the moemnt you buff a pokemon that is already OP (like giving a mega to blaziken when it already got speedboost in 5th gen) and other pokemon get an irrelevant mega.I like Alola's designs,but it's kind of excesive.

As for Alolan forms, the idea probably is my favorite thing about SM so far. I don't love all the one we got so far, but I'm glad they are there. They don't detract anything

The megas were the response to fake evos, something that'd been around longer but they were unsure of how to respond to them, at first, at least.
