If the ability does what we think, there are two ways to play against one:
Try to predict when the opponent will use it, or have your pokemon and their movesets tailored to deal with one. Doing this fuck you over if the opponent goes with:

Gimping the enemy team or freely removing one of their pokemon is too good to not use.
