I mean, there's things like the Super Guide in Mario, but shit like that only activates after you've tried and died a couple times. The point is that Pokemon is pretty much the only kid's game to dumb down difficulty this fucking much.
For example, take the Mario and Luigi series. It's clearly a kid's game, and they just released a new one a year or so after ORAS. I went in expecting to get my favorite childhood series ruined like XY did, but I was surprised to see that difficulty had barely changed at all. It had an "easy" mode, but it wasn't the default or anything.
I guess my point is that Pokemon is really the only kid's series that has cut down difficulty this much.
